Application are invited for the unified single window admission for first year B.E. / B.Tech. Degree Courses to the University Departments / University Colleges, Government and Government Aided Engineering Colleges and for the seats surrendered by the Self-Financing Engineering Colleges for Government Quota.
The application form will be available in the following modes :

In Person
Candidate can obtain the application form in person from the centres by paying Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu, on production of a photocopy of the Permanent Community Card) towards application fee, by Cash / Demand Draft.

By Post
Application Form can also be obtained by post from The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA), Anna University, Chennai - 600 025 by sending a requisition letter along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 700/- (Rs. 450/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu, on production of a photocopy of the Permanent Community Card) and an address lebel written in capital letters to which the application form is to be mailed.

The candidate can also register through internet by logging on to www.annauniv.edu/tnea2014. The procedure for registration is available in the website.

Candidates have to submit the filled-in application either in person or by post along with photocopies of Mark Sheet(s), Proof of Age and copies of all other relevant certificates to the "Secretary, TNEA, Anna University, Chennai - 600 025" on or before 20.05.2014.
All the Demand Drafts should be drawn in favour of "The Secretary (TNEA), Anna University" payable at Chennai.
SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamilnadu desirous of availing Registration fee concession should submit a photocopy of the Permanent Community Certificate Card. Application forms obtained at concessional rates, if submitted by the candidates who does not belong to SC/SCA/ST will be summarily rejected.
Candidates who have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Maths as compulsory subjects are eligible to apply. The marks of Class XI and XII will be considered while preparing the merit list.
Candidates satisfying the eligibility conditions given below as on the last date of submission of application are eligible to apply. Passing the qualifying examination after the last date of submission of application shall not be considered.

Nativity
- Tamil Nadu candidates who have passed VIII, IX, X, XI and XII Std. in Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply. They need not enclose Nativity Certificate.
- Children of Central Government Employees may also apply for admission, irrespective of their native, provided their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past FIVE YEARS at the time of submission of application, which should be supported by enclosing a certificate from the employer of the parent or guardian, to that effect.
- Sons and daughters of All India service Tamil Nadu cadre officers are eligible to apply.
- Children of employees in Public Sector or Government recognised Institutions who at the time of submission of application for admission employed in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years may also apply irrespective of their domicile. A certificate from the employer has to be enclosed along with the application stating that the person is a Permanent Employee of the Firm or Institution concerned with evidence like Income Tax return, PF Slips, etc. and is working in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past FIVE YEARS.
- Other State candidates who have studied VIII, IX, X, XI and XII Std. in Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply. They need not enclose “Nativity Certificate”.

Tamil Nadu native candidates who have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI and XII Std. or their equivalent examination from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply. They should enclose a copy of Nativity Certificate.
Note :- Applications without proper employer certificate for categories (ii), (iii) and (iv) and nativity certificate for the category (vi) will not be considered.
- Tamil Nadu native candidates alone will be considered for communal reservation. Others will be considered under “Open Competition”.

Srilankan Tamil Refugee
As per G.O. (St) No. 172 Higher Education (J2) Dept. dated: 29.06.2010 candidates who are Srilankan Tamil Refugee studied in Tamil Nadu will be considered under open competition. They have to enclose the following :
- Identification certificate from the Head Quarters Tahsildar
- Those who have not registered in the refugee camp should submit a copy of passport, visa and letter registered with Police Station.

Qualifying Examinations and Eligibility
A pass in the HSC (Academic) or its equivalent with a minimum average percentage in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together as given below.
